Quality vs. Quantity

When people think of quality vs. quantity they most likely think of monetary items such as food, housing and transportation. They might not think of how it can be a lifestyle decision and change they can make. Yes, eating more quality foods compared to just large quantities of food is better for you; but also possibly taking that thought process to other aspects of life can be helpful as well.

Quality vs. Quantity in Exercise

When beginning to work out most people think they need to do as much as possible and cover as many exercises as they can, but this may be too demanding and end up leading them to stop exercising altogether. Instead, they just need to do a few basic exercises with great form, technique and increased focus on the quality of exercises, rather than the quantity of them. Another example is the average runner who is preparing for their first marathon. The runner may think they need to cover as many miles as possible in preparation for this first big race. Instead, they could use different variations of speed and distance training to prepare for the race and keep their body in tip top shape so they have stamina throughout the marathon. I have personally seen this very example be helpful for an individual’s preparation for a long distance race. It is a great point to how you may need to adjust your focus. You can see that you don’t have to change your entire lifestyle to be fit and healthy.

So I ask, l when you go to out to eat or to the gym in the morning, how are dictating your time there or the food you are putting into your palate? Are you looking for the best bang for your buck? Reaching your goal in record time? Or are you looking to change your bad habits into good habits for a longevity of life?

I am here to help every individual I come in contact with whether it is to just put a smile on their face, help them learn exercise movements, or to give them encouragement, believe I am here to help!

Tell me where you have made changes of quality vs. quantity in your life and how it has helped.
